Hey Everyone, it's been a long time since I've been on Deviant Art! It feels like I've been in a Coma for what seems like months, years, decades. This summer was chaotic and definitely very busy. I really wish I was on DA more since I had plenty of opportunities to go on, but somehow kept deviating from it. This summer I had summer classes at my university (trying to make room for a minor), a research project with a couple of professors and fellow students, organizing the upcoming academic year with events/trips for my universities anime club (of which I am now president of), work, catching up on anime and manga, going to conventions, and of course progress on the visual novel project. A busy, but fun summer. I got a lot of stuff done, though I still have more as classes begin for me on Monday 8/26. Fortunately, I've had some time throughout the summer to draw on what little free time I had between work/projects/classes so I hope to upload those as soon when I get a chance to scan them (and if I want to "finish" them digitally).

Haven't been active in awhile, had to deal with final exams and moving into my new apartment. So glad that after two years of college living in the dorms I can get the hell away from it. I feel more independent asides from my 2 other room mates, it definitely feels more relaxed in terms of being able to concentrate on projects such as the VN and such. Though it sucks I can't go home since I'm doing summer classes, but it can't be helped.

On that note, been getting back into more designs and drawings for my characters, unfortunately I'm finding it hard to get the look I want for certain characters. (have a nice pile of fails in my trash bin >.>" ). A good thing coming up is that I will be getting a new tablet for drawing which will help progress so much since I've been stuck with pencil/pen/etc for the past couple of months. Lost my set of copic markers and don't really have any other way to color for the moment hence why the tablet is so exciting  

One of my other teammates has been working really hard on music for the soundtrack of the VN and sometime this summer we would like to compile a soundtrack for people to listen to.

I'm hoping in the next couple of days I can find something that improves on the base drawings I've uploaded so far, and as always, all feedback is greatly appreciated!

Many people have been asking me about the project I'm involved in due to the character concepts I've been uploading so I thought I'd delve into that.

The idea came about from a couple of friends and I in the anime club of our university and we started it this year (Jan 2013). We formed a team (about 5 of us) including two artists, two writers/editors, and one programmer. The concept revolved around a discussion we had in regards to the quality of romance anime being released recently in terms of harems. There's alot of hilarious issues with them (such as a character instantly liking the main character for what ever small reason, though some have good back stories and reasons), but we wanted to delve into that in a different approach.

This is what we have so far:
The theme of our project revolves around a typical Japanese high school romance with a twist. The roles switch where the main character is not the main character, the main character is actually the side character. Notice how in alot of romance/harem anime that the best friend of the main character is always put off to the side as either the nerd, jokester, pervert, off to do better things, or whatever else yet the joke usually comes at their expense where they have no hope for love. Essentially you will follow the story of the visual novel side character (our main character) as his best friend (the visual novel main character) in his pursuit of romance. Of course you will have to decide whether you want to help your friend get the girl, or try to go for her yourself which could play out both beneficially and horribly. This leads to atleast 3 possible endings for each "heroine" (we are planning for 4) where she will either end up with you, your best friend, or a secret ending.

This is practically a parody of the harem/romance genre as a whole but we hope it will be an enjoyable visual novel for people to play eventually. Once we finish it (no idea when, we are in the brainstorming phase), we hope to release it out as a free game for everyone to download and play. For those of you familiar with the game "Katawa Shoujou", you'll understand the benefits of a free game.

Many characters I have / will be releasing are all OC's by myself, at this stage of production I have responsibility for 2 out of the 4 heriones in regards to a senpai(upperclassmen) and kohai(underclassmen). Not to mention potential side characters and background characters (people have requested to be background characters lol) The other two heriones being worked on by my fellow team mates include a childhood friend and a "supposedly platonic" close friend made through middleschool/highschool

Well, I had a deviant art account that I haven't been on in 4-5 years, not to mention I have no way to get back on it. This site has definitely changed alot since I last came here. It's nice to see the community still thriving after all these years I've been away. Brings back nostalgia. Thought I would make a new account seeing as my friends have asked me to make a new one and I've been inspired to draw consistently again (back then I finished only like 1 drawing a month). I guess I've considered reuploading all of my art work I still have saved on my computer but probably not. I'll use this opportunity to start uploading recent stuff (within the past year I picked it up again) as well as new stuff. I'll use this as a starting point to check my progress in terms of improving my art. To all the artists on Deviant Art, thanks for keeping this place awesome.
